Easter Hand Letterings

Hand-letterings for the Holy Week—illustrating a verse a day, reflecting upon and remembering the work of Christ as we approached Easter Sunday.

Palm Sunday

Palm Sunday

"Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." — Philippians 2:9-11 ESV

Monday

Monday

“Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will bring justice to the nations. He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets. A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. In faithfulness he will bring forth justice; he will not falter or be discouraged till he establishes justice on earth. In his teaching the islands will put their hope.” — Isaiah 42:1-4 NIV

Tuesday

Tuesday

"For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:6-8 ESV

Wednesday

Wednesday

“I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe that I am who I am. Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.” — John 13:19-20 NIV.

Jesus took the principle of John 13:19 and foretold numerous details of what was going to happen to him, so that when they happened, we would believe he is God, that what he says about himself is true!

Maundy Thursday

Maundy Thursday

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." — John 13:34-35 ESV

Good Friday

Good Friday

"Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." — Hebrews 10:19-22 NIV

Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed." — 1 Peter 2:24 ESV

Resurrection Sunday

Resurrection Sunday

"The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." — Matthew 28:5-7 NIV.
